L'applicazione dBlog non imposta lato server alcuna codifica per le pagine web che genera dinamicamente in base al contenuto del DB Access, ma indica al browser client la codifica tramite il meta tag HTTP-EQUIV. Tale tag è fissato nel "modulo meta" a "ISO-8859-1" in modo da permettere l'uso dell'intero set di caratteri dell'europa occidentale: dagli accenti francesi e italiani, alla cediglia spagnola, al "beta" tedesco o alle strane "vocali" nordiche... senza necessità di indicarli tramite la codifica &#numero_codice; di cui esistono anche indicatori mnemonici, tipo à etc.
Per ovviare al cambiamento di codifica delle pagine web servite dal provider, la soluzione è stata modificare l'applicazione dBlog per rendere parametrica la tabella codici: (1) aggiungendo un parametro fra quelli generali del blog; (2) modificando il "modulo meta" e i tre script ASP per i feed RSS

In questo modo se il provider imposta di nuovo forzatamente e inaspettatamente una particolare codifica caratteri delle risposte, allora sarà possibile modificarla al volo.

After having recovered a bit, I spent a dozen of days wandering through Ireland with a couple of good friends of mine, and still some traces of cortisone flooding thorugh my blood.
On Aug 13 we were in typical Irish Pub in Kenmere, when an elderly man was drinking his Guinness beer. Nothing special so far, but he sometimes took out of his pocket an old folded and over thorn photography of a lady. He unfolded the picture and kept on staring at her and even sometimes talking or sobbing... What a scene! After a couple of minutes he normally folded the photograph back to his pocket and swallowed another sip of his dark oblivion drink. Then he went to the loo, he got back to his seat and orderd yet another beer...

Oggi mi hanno telefonato per offrirmi un lavoro importante. Avevo più volte lavorato per "loro" in passato, e con soddisfazione reciproca. Poi interessi particolaristici avevano fatto scegliere qualcun'altro al mio posto....

I was sleeping today, exhausted by too many nights up for too long, needless to say, longer than really needed. In between thoughts, dreams, nightmares and punches from my overloaded liver, an old song started rambling on my head…

…the original is dated back to 1982, from the States, explicit lyrics, and those "big sounds" which make it so 80s and mystify the underlying R&B mood.

AAMOF the version echoing in my mind is much newer, acoustic, suffered, and really really great.

Lyrics are in a basic and direct English, so un-poetic and somehow sexist, but explicit enough to merit a temporary ban from radio and TVs at that time.

Actually I don't feel like it, and currently not looking for it: it was just a mid-afternoon dream. Dry and distorted by a long playlist in the background.

Tonite it's the time of an Italian songwriter who is much more famous in France and Northen Europe than in Italy. "The Best Of" Ganmaria Testa (Extra-muros, 2005) is peacefully reflecting the class A laser beam back to the reader. No words. Wonderful music and lyrics. He swings like a god and that is really perfect for me tonight

Akiko Ida is a great food photographer: her pictures are both original and moving.

Born in Japan, she is the artist behind food pictures in many "Elle" and "Elle à table" issues, as well as several cousine books.

This is her personal web site, while Mimial is a very interesting collection of her mainstream miniatures pictures: in this project, conceived by Akiko Ida and Pierre Javelle, small miniatures depicting everyday characters populate food, objects and tools of everyday life.
